i think cargos if you should matters what you are ging to use them for as you know they cost more if you compare them to large but are faster...

on my homeplanet i now have 40 large and 150 small

This is true at first but once you get impulse 5, sc is outfitted with an impulse and it's base speed goes up to 10k. Add the bonus from impulse, that turns it to 20k.

Whereas the lc stays with combustion engine with a base speed of 7,5k. All this allows the sc to get in ALOT more raids (usually against undefended targets)

This is the balance part, lc also has a higher si, so there's less losses against def or other fleet.

i use my lights more then my heavys but i use both

for raids with def i use large cause of better defence

for raids without def i use smalls because they are faster and yh need impuls 5 but dont think many players dont have impuls 5?
